Rashida Ashley is a dynamic soprano, creative writer, entrepreneur, and digital strategist who blends artistry, leadership, and storytelling to empower audiences. With a foundation in opera, musical theater, and creative writing, Rashida brings a unique perspective to career transitions, leadership presence, and fostering creativity across both the arts and business sectors.
A classically trained soprano, Rashida studied opera at NYU Steinhardt and earned her MFA in Creative Writing from New York University in 2024. She has performed as a soprano soloist in prestigious concerts, including Chanson D’Amour and gala showcases at the Queens Summer Vocal Institute. Her artistic journey extends into film and television, with appearances in Law & Order: SVU, The Equalizer, and Fleishman Is in Trouble.
As a creative entrepreneur, Rashida is the producer and lead performer of An Evening of Opera, a three-month opera series in New York City supporting emerging talent and fostering community engagement with the arts. She also crafts original soul R&B music, blending classical and contemporary influences.
Rashida is an accomplished writer and digital strategist. She has worked with clients such as The MRKT, Edelman, and Synergetic Operas, producing articles and multimedia content on education, artistry, empowerment, and social justice. Her professional experience includes roles at the NYU Production Lab and Entrepreneurial Institute, where she honed skills in personal branding and inclusive entrepreneurship.
Rashida’s work has earned recognition, including the CREA Global Awards (2023) and features in Black Women in Mediaand Bronze Magazine. She is passionate about empowering Black communities and promoting wellness through her creative work. Through speaking engagements, Rashida shares insights on how creativity fuels professional growth and empowers leadership.
